We often get so focused on what we “have” to do, that we miss what we “get” to do. There can be purpose in pain and suffering as it forces you to slow down and just “be” instead of always “doing”. Pain can be humbling when you must rely on the kindness and help of others, yet through these moments we build connection. And hardship can remind us of the things we take for granted. Even though diabetes is a hardship and there are no guarantees, I am always grateful that we live in a time where diabetes can be managed.
