“Ignoring” your blood sugars doesn’t make the problem go away. It just leaves you “ignorant”.
I hear many people say they don’t check their blood sugars because they don’t want to feel bad if the number isn’t where they want it. That is a dangerous mindset, but understandable because it is based in fear. Fear can happen when we don’t feel we have control over a situation. Ironically, checking your blood sugar gives you the information to be in control. If you know your level you are empowered to give yourself a “high five” when the number is in range or take a corrective action if it isn’t where you want it to be. But choosing to ignore it, leaves you uninformed and ignorant about what is happening in your own body.
Not a happy place to be.
