I absolutely LOVE this article!  When big business and big government make diabetes care unaffordable, people with type 1 take matters into their own hands.  This team from California is in the lab figuring out how to make their own batches of insulin.   When successful, hospitals and other entities could produce insulin for their own needs, circumventing proprietary standards in place now. They believe they can make it cheaper and easier than the big boys; Sanofi, Lilly & Novo Nordisk.  I am cheering you on Open Insulin Project!
