Buried among the many decisions we make each day, there are rules we have agreed to – knowingly or not. They may be how much sleep you allow yourself, what boundaries you put on exercise, limits on TV time, what is “bolus worthy”, what foods you will or won’t eat, or what you will drink. The list goes on and on. If you aren’t where you want to be, you can write down all the rules that you can think of – diabetes related or not – then see if you truly agree with all of them. Find some you don’t think are serving you, and then create a new rule. The key is, it has to be fun, entertaining, enjoyable, purposeful and pleasant! Be creative!
